Poems included in the Sligo Independent 1913

As in the previous year, the Sligo Independent published fewer poems in 1913 than its local rivals. The anonymous anti-Home Rule  political commentator, A.D., accounted for most of these but again it included a poem in praise of Sligo's landscape, this time by a Roscommon-born Dublin resident.

Louie Stockdale, who had a poem included in the Sligo Times in 1912, had one published in the Independent  this year and the newspaper also included a seasonal offering, an attempt at an amusing Christmas rhyme by a regular correspondent.
